Hi
Has anyone had any experience with fitting shadescreens made from a pvc product called Vista Weave or similar on their caravans? From what I have seen most are made with varying qualities of shadecloth but saw one made from this material on a Traveller caravan at
Rainbow Beach, looked very
well made and very tight when erected. Did not get a chance to talk to owner. Have had conflicting comments about this material when getting quotes and seems like it may not be commonly used. As it is more expensive was wondering if it is durable and if it generates heat as
well as shade when sitting behind it? Was going to put screen along length of awning and and at each end. As we
free camp most of the time it will mainly be for shade but also as privacy screen when in caravan parks.
Thank you

Spencerj,
My brother in law has it on his van and finds it to be really good. It wont let
water through like the shade cloth will and gives excellent shade from the sun, does not generate heat at all.
Only problem is cost, I think he said about $44 per linial metre off the roll as opposed to about $10/11 per linial metre for shade cloth.
Cheers,
AM

spencerj,
He had it done on the central coast of NSW.
He bought it from a canvas place there and they sewed the track chord on and put reinforcd eyeletes in it. Cant tell you the all up cost but he did say it was expensive to buy and have done, but worth it in the end.
We have spent many hours under his awning whilst its been raining and the
water just runs down the outside of it and does not come through the weave at all.
Cheers,
AM
