I am replacing my leaking radiator in my 1990 80 Series Landcruiser with 3F petrol engine and manual gearbox and I am getting mixed responses from suppliers. All the radiators are built for the auto transmission so some suppliers are saying the radiator brackets are different and so the radiator wont fit.

What I would like to know if this is really the case? I will ring a natrad store when I get a chance, but thought that with all the wise ones on this site, someone would be able to tell me and ease my tired mind.

Cheers

Hi Glenn
I found that they mainly stock auto radiators as well for my fze 4500 eng as well. saves having to carry two in stock. and no difference in the mounting holes.
I can't tell you if there is any difference between the 3f auto or manual.
If your 90 model is simialar to a 95 allow a few hours to change it as there is a fair bit of stuff to move to get at the top bolts.
I fitted an adrad radiator and have found it ok, try them as well.

Hi Rob

I will take the truck down to one of the suppliers to check.
I will also look at your link. One thing though, once the shroud is unbolted
and the hoses removed, it is only 6 bolts and the radiator is out, 20
minutes max! My mechanic showed me and I showed a radiator specialist
who was amazed that he had been doing it the hard way for so long.
The manuals all say the long way hahahaha

There are two things different...the cowl pickup points that bolt the cowl to the top tank, and the water return that a 1fzfe has...any diesel radiator will fit the 3f, if you want to make up some adapters to hold the cowl onto it...Natrad were selling rads for $375 using your rad side mounts. They came top and bottom tank plus core.
