Heyo all.

Well I flew into Adelaide today and am at Mr and Mrs Borgy's safe and sound. Am still trying to get my head around being one hour ahead of time though!.
The flight over was great! I haven't got the map in front of me to remember the flight path will have to let you know tomorrow, but it was great seeing the outback from above! looking at the landscape change from city to rural properties to crops. The green of the land fading to yellow, then just red! all red with lots of creeks, river tracks and heaps of clay pans. Wow if they were full of water I would never have thought that the outback actually would of had so many lakes and rivers. It was totally amazing seeing the outback landscape from the sky. A pretty good experience for my first time in a plane, Hopefully I can get a window seat on the way back. Friday we are heading to the Birdswood Museum to see Tom Kruse's Badger truck. Saturday is the SA Gathering and end of year christmas do. SA Gathering
and sunday, The whole purpose for my visit is to go to Waterloo, to the birth home of the Mailman of the Birdsville Track for the unveiling of the Bust (Statue) of him. Site Link
Seeing the outback landscape from above alone was worth flying over here for, to meet such a legend as Tom Kruse (sorry Borgy, you'll have to take second in the legend status), will totally make it a trip I will never forget!

Good to see you have arrived OK.

Any trouble from those SAs, give us a shout.

Will have to get you done the Birdsville track next and see the rest of the truck collection. There are a few trucks that broke down in different places. Mobile scrap yards, if he needed a part he went to the next truck left on the road. Good aussie bush ingenuity.

Hi Jo, glad you made it Ok. I'm sure the guys will look after you.

If you think that the flight was something, try flying over the Channel Country in flood. Absolutely amazing, especially if you've crossed it before on the ground in the dry.

Now don't forget, we'll need all the gory details and pictures of the gathering :))

Hi Jo

Yeap, that was my impression of the vastness of our great land some 3 years ago. (my first plane flight also)

Glad to see you made it to S.A. and with some of the Qld weather.
Enjoy your stay and the places you intend to visit over the next few days.
See you on Saturday arvo.

yep I brought the weather with me but left the humidity in Brisbane. Nice breeze going outside at the moment. Just chillin today, slept in (that was good cause I woke up a few times and was trying to figure what time it was!!) Mark is still in hospital and hating every minute of being stuck back in there again!.

Hi Jo,
take it easy on old Tom, he aint as young as he used to be.

Dear Jo have a WONDERFUL time, and post your thoughts about the trip as soon as you can.

Birdwood is, IMHO, one of the best museums of its type anywhere.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy & then have a great time.

In jealousy, Colin.
