Hi I am camping in my sons yard for the next 9 months. My annex is too small when all grandchildren and son and wife come to dinner.
So the annex was given away to a needy camper. A mistake but...
I have a 10m tarp over the van and a carport that has a high center so the tarp has vallies and lots of rain pools in the pockets.
Has anyone put up a tarp and had it stay up in high winds if so what is the answer please help

Also is it Ok to just mend a leaking radiator it leaks on the seams at the top.

As for the tarp Gypsy. Use spreader bars across the wdth if you can and as many poles and ropes as there are holes or D rings for them in the tarp. If you keep the tarp tight it will flap less in the wind. If you're putting it up for nine months it will wear it out especially if it gets a lot of sun.

It hasn't been moderated as it is a reasonable observation of people today that are not capable of applying some basic analysis to a problem and developing a suitable solution without having to default to a forum for all the answers.

I am certainly not affraid to make such observations. My wisdom extend to being able to help my self when necessary.

I would however be a little embarassed to ask for help with a problem no one could possibly provide a suitable solution without seeing the setup in question.

make sure each pole/rope uses a spring to take up the tension otherwise you will never keep it taut. also use good quality pegs too or they will forever come loose.

also you maybe able to run a rope over the top to stop it flapping and also underneath it in place of spreader bars if you do not have them to take up the vallies. i use higher poles in certain places to create my own ridge etc in the tarp to eliminate the vallies etc.

unfortunately without a visual on the actual area and setup it is hard to give specific advice.
