Just asking about this for my brother, as he evidentley has the oppotunity to buy either at a very good price. The only way to get accurate figues is from those that run them. Thanks.
Cheers Axle.

Axle,
The Old Boy has a 4.8 Datsun running the old style "mixer" LPG and it uses about 20-22L/100km on LPG around town.
I used it to tow a 16 foot van, flogging the living daylights out of it and it used 31/100km.
Brilliant tow vehicle, has a better spread of torque for towing than the Tojo.
Cheers,
Jim.

Thanks Jim, You certainley pay for the power with a petrol EH!!.
Although, That would have to be tops I think?
No wonder you can pick up a beautiful unit at a bargain price, But are they a proposition??.
Cheers Axle.

There is almost 10% difference in favour of the Toyoto when comparing same spec (Automatics) , the Patrol has about an almost 10% torque & power advantage instead.
My 4800 patrol is a manual and has delivered approx 16.5lt/100km over 170,000km.
Not that it matters much as fuel is only some 20% of total running costs

It makes a very interesting issue out of the whole thing Robin!
!6.5 ltr /100ks.
A 3.0ltr Possibably half that, But only lasts half as long and big bucks invovled wth pumps and all the rest.
There are some really enticing buys out there at the moment...LOL.
Cheers Axle.

G'day Axle,
I bought my Patrol knowing it would be a heavy fuel user and the worst figures I've achieved has been 3.2K/Ltr towing a heavy camper on Fraser. I didn't buy
mine for economy though I bought it for capability and on that basis it has not let me down. My previous vehicles were under powered and as I was planning to tow and go to remote
places I wanted the comfort of knowing that lack of power was not going to be my undoing.
I suppose it really is a question about what is most important to you. My priority was an additional feeling of safety when going remote.
Kind regards

Hi Axle
I have a 4.7 L V8, Dad had a 4.8 L Nissan before he passed away recently.
Gee his Nissan was heavy on petrol compared to
mine, I also have
mine on LPG.
Also, there is a comfort and performance level between the two vehicles in question.
Regards
