Yeh sorry guy's the one on my profile 79 series cab chassis, am thinking of running 285/75/R16 Cooper STT or Mickey Thompson MTZ's..
Could just run them on the std rims and not have 2 sets as they look good but dont know about longevity...
Could also go with ST's as everyday tyres...

I have one of the new V8 diesel cab chassie utes. The GX model with alloy rims. I have purchased a 2nd spare but with a steel rim as it was way way cheaper than an alloy. BUT I had to get 5 spare nuts as the profile on the alloy is different to the profile on the steel rim. Trap for
young players.

Towie,
Your alloys are 16x7 - not legally wide enough for 285/75R16.
The Toyota 105series rigid front end 16x8 rims are the best for 285s. They came on 105series with 1Hz diesel or 6cyl petrol motors, and are a ittle hard to come by, but can usually get them for up to $120 a rim if you
shop around.
Just make sure you don't get the IFS rims that came on the 100series TD and V8.

RV cruiser factory mags are 16x8 and will take 285's happily. My 105 in my rig pic has them on it.
Cheers

Hi Dave,
Have a good look. Yours are also 16x7!
I can scan you the spec sheet, or you can look it up on
the Toyota website.
They will take 285's happily, but not legally.
Cheers
Phil

I agree with you phil G why put tyres on rims and fit to the vehicle
knowing that there not legal , you need to go by the tyre placard on the vehicle because thats what the insurance company will look at .

Dave and Towie,
Thanks for that - if it says 16x8 on the rims, then the paperwork is wrong. Maybe they upsized them at some stage???? But thanks for the correction.
Cheers
Phil

Thanks fella's i have chatted with a few stores including 4 by 4 Mega and Tyrepower who can fit 285's to the std rims happily...
If i buy a set of steelies will cheapo Sunraisers do or are they nasty cheapies?
What sort of millage have you guy's got from your tyres?
Ive gone through 2 sets of Cooper ATR's in about 60K with a fair bit of punishing off road & very heavy loads....
Cheers once again & thanks
