Intending to install 2 Fullriver 120ah AGM batteries into my van and was intending to use 2 of the Ark power battery boxes wired in series. Is this possible or perhaps the power battery boxes cant be wired in this way?? Also would I require the C-tek 25amp charger or would I have to go up to the 40amp??

Sprint, unless you want 24 volts you wire them in parallel, ie +ve to +ve, -ve to -ve.
This will give you about 240 ah. The gurus say the charger should be at least 10% of the total battery capacity so you are close on this with the 25 amp model. I'd go the 40 amp if this is in budget.

I understand where your coming from, but Fullriver only make 120ah in the 12v configuration.

(we take it as 'normal' to use 12v batteries, but using high Amp capacity 6v batteries is becoming more popular for long term travellers)

Ken is right.

Is your van 12V or 24V ?

Its 12v. So I should wire them in parallel to give me 12v.
Are there any problems with the connections on these battery boxes that could cause problems wiring in parallel??
Thanks in anticipation.

Sprint any reason why you want the Ark battery box?

Have a look here for the same sort of box from ABR 4wd Accessories.

No problems wiring them just remember the cables will be live so try not let them touch.

Here is a picture borrowed from another website.

Only had my eye on the ARK boxes as the boxes are like power packs, you can test battery by merely pressing a button and the terminal connections on the boxes look quite efficient/strong etc. Should I be looking at another better brand.
Welcome any advice.

Why not use a 'normal' black plastic battery box to hold the two batteries safely, then put two Voltage gauges and an Amp gauge mounted some where in the area on the dash, where you can actually see it.

I'm pretty sure the batteries will be in a position where they won't be looked at too often, so you will only see if there is a problem when you 'think' the batteries are a bit low or you 'think' you may have a problem.

When you have the gauges situated where you can clearly see them when your driving, you will see any imminent problem before it gets serious, not after the problem has occurred and damaged the batteries and maybe other problems also.

You could use a normal battery box and permanently wire and secure a Battery Tester from Jaycar on the outside for under $10, that's what I did.
