Hi all
This topic may have been dealt with before but I am trying to decide between the current SR5 Hilux and the Landcruiser Discovery 70 Series.

I need a 2600 tray to carry my slideon.

I have had a 2005 SR Hilux and have sold it but it did do the job after I spent $6000 upgrading suspension/ fuel tank etc.

I like the power of the 70 but not the features (or lack thereof) but it does have front and rear discs and no IFS and manual front locks.

Seems one cannot get auto in either now (bummer) and after market cruise is a must. Anyone have preferences?
I know this is a huge question so any help appreciated.

Cheers Jack

Landcruiser Discovery 70 Series ??
The disco bit is Landrover me thinks.

The Hilux and 70 series are two pretty different vehicles. I would have thought that for anyone to give you meaningful advice they would need a lot more info about what you want / need.

Having said that, given the 70's "comforts etc" it would probably stick out like a sore thumb to you if you wanted one of these.

Ever thought of a 4.2 diesel Patrol ute? You could still get a relatively new one even though the 4.2 has been discontinued. They are a lot more comfortable than the Cruiser ute. Don't know about manual front lockers but the Patrol rear lsd is the best going around.

This gives you another option.

Slightly off thread Barnesy, but I didn't buy my Cruiser ute for comfort. Comfort had nothing to do with the purchase.

Hi Jack

Have you thought about getting a 100 series and cutting it, you get your auto, you get your comfort and you get your reliability. you can even keep the back seat if you don't mind the length.
