Hi Everyone

I have just fitted my cible oscars with 55 watt HID conversions and they are awesome. I am now looking for a set of clear or coloured lenses for the front of them. I am looking for set at the right price. Any suggestions where to look and how much I am up for.... and also what colour to go for. I haven't had much luck on ebay.

thanks Kc

Got me buggered why one would spend heaps on a good set of lights then put colored lenses on and ruin the effect .
I know I'll read all sorts of excuses but the fact is a white light is far better.

I'll be interested in the thoughts of others also, as I'm looking at the Narva's and not sure if I should go for the clear or blue?
Joe.

I have the super oscars, and did try running halogen 130w H1 bulbs.
Had cibie clear covers, but they let the lights get too hot and I was blowing bulbs.

How hot do the HIDs run?

Put mesh in front now without the clear covers.

Yes the covers keep the stones off, but do get condensation inside, and are a pain to clean when the bulldust gets in.

Where did you get the HID conversion from?
My 35 year old SCs could do with a bit of an over haul.

Hi Everyone

I bought my kit from xenon_cool_car for about $80 Aus. I find the 55w HID bulbs are cooler than a 100 watt halogen but HEAPS brighter. I ordered 4300k bulbs which give a white light. The only reason for considering coloured (probably blue) covers is to reduce glare from roadsigns (highway driving) although their is a trade of in light intensity. If you are looking for bang for bucks the HID is definitely the way to go. I used to have 600w of halogen light from a previous vehicle but now with 180w HID ( 2 x 55 w spot + 2 x 35w fog) plus 2 x 55w halogen headlights there is just no comparison. The kits took about 30 min for each light to fit. It is not difficult, just take a little care.

Still no luck finding covers on the web.... any suggestions

Kc
