Hi Mick
We have the slightly smaller RV4, best tent that we have ever brought, and would never look at any other brand again. They do go up in 30 seconds. They are 100% Australian made and from what I have read on this
forum, back up service that could not be beaten.
You will be very happy with your purchase.
Cheers
Stephen

They are actually Australian designed but made in China and the quality is excellent.
I have had an RV3 for 4 years and am very happy with it and would only consider an Oztent or Black Wolf Turbo tent next time round. The Oztent has the big advantage of not needing to be pegged down unless it's windy and not needing to peg is the secret to the simplicity and the 30 second setup time.
Cheers,
Chris

I bought an RV4 and the reason why i didnt go to an RV5 is because its 450mm wide and the RV4 is 350mm wide and i still have room for my rhino 1800 x 1100 roof basket as
well . I can squeeze in 3 x 1900 x 800 dmh self inflating mats and this is plenty of room for 4 grown ups LOL . I bought the fly and the peaked side panels and front panel . You can just set up the tent by itself or add the accessories . Another reason i chose the RV4 was that the cgear floor mating is 2.4 x 6 meters and the tent is 2.4 meters wide . With the tent up and the side panels attached and the front panel on with the front panel awning up its 2.4 x 6 meters . The tent has a large awning ouit the front of the tent and i dont have to carry my bulky gazebo anymore . The fly attaches to the top of the tent via a heavy zip and then you also get 2 poles which keep it higher than the roof and ropes to peg the side and rear flaps down . All polesand ropes and pegs are supplied when you buy the tent and accessories and stored in there own bags so if you want just the tent up you just grab the tent bag . If you want to attach the side panels then grab that bag and take out the panels and attach via large zips and velcro , and a couple of extra long poles if peaked and you are done . The front panel also zips on and has an awning as
well . It is expensive at $1600 for the tent and accessories and cgear flooring but worth every cent . I never have to worry about getting wet ever again and it will last a lifetime . They also sell second hand for nearly full price .

Thanks, So they really are that waterproof, did you need to put anything on the canvas?

They are guaranteed waterproof and the water just beads off as i can testify from the storm that hit
brisbane last sunday . I was at straddie at the time . Not a drop of water inside .

hi mick , ref rv5 / just bought one today from central 4x4
welshpool (
perth) got it for $990. , it as big as a house inside
as we also bought the delux walls + front .
we want to use it in conjuction with our camper trailer , some where for the kids to play / sleep .
put it up today in less than .30 sec as they claim its true .
the only thing is its quite big and a bit & orquid to cart arround
by yourself , and you would need a roof rack or trailer to get it from a to b as it wont fit in the boot.
apart from that it sure looks a quality product / time will tell.
cheers / mike (wa)

I might add that to avoid this turning into the tent version of Nissan v Toyota, Engel v Waeco etc, i was seriously looking at the Oztent but as mentioned by many, packed size was an issue and when it came to the crunch price was the decider! Both appear to be excellent products

We have the RV5 (just for the 2 of us, but I like the extra space). We keep the fly permanently attached to the tent. Still fits into the carry bag with no problems. This means that the tent and fly can be set up "in seconds", just by adding the poles to keep the fly in position. The fly keeps the sun off the tent, and stops any bird droppings etc getting onto the canvas.
We are very happy with the setup. We also bought the peaked sides and floor saver. Excellent product.

Hi mick
Just brought the RV5 for all the reasons above and in the past.
Stop to sleep set up 30 sec tent 3 min to peg and roll out bed.
stop for a week set up 30min Tent 30 sec walls 20 min fly 2 min floor 2 min get nto fridge for a beer 2 min.
Pack up is about the same
PS i dont roll my walls I fold in to squar and put in a canvas bag pole go in main bag. And there is plenty of room in the bag once you get the hang of the folds.
Quality is has been very good.
buy the lot just wait for a show if you have the time and they generaly throw somthing at it.
