Yes you can, with a seperate policy.
We have 16.5k of gear insured any where any time with DGA.
So if i drop my laptop or it gets flogged from being left on the
camping table it is covered.
Cheers Lyndon

Hiya Lyndon
I believe he is talking of the one insurance policy not several, just about anything is insurable with several policies, anyway
It was never offered or even suggested to me by DGA.I asked can i up it to at least $5000,I have receipts for everything ,My Honda 20ui adds up to the above not to mention all the rest of the gear..You would think being in the business they are in its the first thing they would mention...
But you know what the answer was lol

I am with DGA and they would not insure contents of my camper unless the whole camper went west ! In other words if someone breaks in and cleans out the vehicle I would not be covered.

Alan I'm with HBF and providing that you list your accessories and mods they are happy. They also cover you when on holidays for stuff like your lap top, cameras & videos, etc.
They also cover you for off road stuff.

HI, In SA , with SGIC all the extra's (
camping gear, fridge, phones . GPS, camera's etc) can be covered under your home policy, when we went to WA, I listed $5.000 of extra's and they only charged about $10.00 for that cover for a month,I just cancelled it when we got back and they charged me pro rata,
The car insurance has the fixed extra's in that policy.
Cheers Des.

QBE covered my
camping gear whether we were away from
camp or not - we listed every reasonable item, with the purchase price, and items such as laptop, binoculars, cameras were covered.
We did have to take the time to ask all the questions, and there were frequent discussions between the consultant and supervisors (including, at one stage, the supervisor), but it was all eventually listed and covered (specified) under the one policy. They were a little unsure at first, as some of their proformas are biased towards caravans (it took a while to get them to understand that the annexe was an integral part of the camper-trailer) but we got there in the end.
A proviso; I have never had to make a claim, so I can't guide you as to trouble-free or otherwise, but getting the insurance written was OK, just painstaking.
The premium was also several hundred dollars less than quoted by another 'specialist' company
