Hi Guys,

I have a 1991 Nissan Terrano. Recently I noticed that there is a diesel leak. The leak is near the diesel pump. I have no mechanical knowledge about how to identify the exact point of the leak. Do you have any idea where I can get this fixed near Melbourne? As this is a private import, the mechanics I knew were not that keen to repair it.

Thanks

Lilan

I used to have one of these. Great vehicle. Any mechanic can work on these. This engine was available here in non turbo form in the Navarra.I compared engine bays and fuel lines were the same. I got a lot of negative answers when i wanted work done so I just did not give them my business. Body is same as pathfinder, engine same as navarra. Just persevered and those that wanted to work on vehicle were rewarded. Even ended up with a snorkel which everybody said no to. Just bit the bullet and had a navara snorkel fitted which bolted straight in. Plenty of parts available from wreckers. Dont be put off by the anti grey import brigade. Just remeber all Jap 4wds are imports built from the same parts bucket in japan. In most cases these models were better fitted than those models sent to Aus.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Do you have any idea about the break pump in this? Is it the same one that comes in the Nissan Navarra? Due to age, my Terrano is starting to give problems. It had been a good vehicle so I do not want to get rid of it. Was thinking of doing the repairs and keep it.

Thanks

Hi - we used to have one of these as well - great vehicle - we used a guy in Ebden Street Moorabbin (Tony) - I think the business was called "Needa a mechanic" - he is near the corner in Ebden Street just behind Philip Morris - tell him Julie sent you -or if you are closer to Frankston - Reno motors Kookaburra St Frankston know a bit about these as well.
