We have seen jobs advertised at Elcho Island. Can anyone give me any info regarding this place. Apart from the fact it is located in East Arhnem Land :)

Worked there in the late 70,s & had a great time but would not be able to tell what it is like now.

You'd need to completely give up drinking and would be amoungst a handful of whites on the island. Apart from that you'd love the fishing but probably not much else!

Will be interested as to whether we are free to move around the Island as we wish? Do you know anything about the Barge? Can you get across in a vehicle to the mainland?
A while of the grog wouldn't hurt the waist line :)

What have you heard about the place? Maybe you will have to email me that one direct? What did you think about the new style grill? :)
