Thanks Gone Bush, interesting in that I have a van awaiting repairs for some weeks now and did not get any notification from Boroma about this happening.

To say I am unhappy about the way this has been handled is an understatement. No mention of it on the website either.

GypsyOne, Toyocrusa's brother did - got a message cancelling the repairs. Toyocrusa's thread is here - go back around a week. His post was the first most of us heard of this casualty of hard times. It must be a real personal tragedy for the family involved. I understand that those with vans under warranty may have been contacted by the Receivers so they can register as 'creditors'. If you think you fit this category - get in touch with them quickly.

Hi GypsyOne,

We live in the area and I drove passed them last week. There was a security guard sitting in his car blocking the front (locked) gate. As we had been vaguely interested in one of their vans, I stopped and tried to get some information from him. Was like talking to a brick wall. All his answers seemed to consist of 'Dunno, mate', 'No idea' and 'No one's told me that'. Probably not his fault, but it was less than helpful. I suspect his main role was to stop the vans being 'liberated'.

Something tells me I'm glad we hadn't left a deposit...

Cheers,
Chris

My information is that there will be an auction next month on site, the dates I was given are either 18th or 20th...not sure which one it is.

Gee I hope it was not something I said!

Wonder where jeffandanne and Peter are now. They had heaps to say when I made a commment about thier poor quality product, but seam to be quite now.

The funny thing is in the Boroma newsletter they say that the economic down turn has effected the boating industry but has not effected them. But Judy is happy to say it was all the fault of the "Our customer base has been decimated by the stockmarket and superannuation situations and we have been unable to continue,".

I put it down to poor management, nothing more, nothing less.

I feel sorry for those people with vans still in manufacture, those still under warranty and those that own them who will suffer from loss of resale. That is the sad bit.

I wish the owner's of Boroma vans all the best.

Regards,
Cam

Gooday,
Yes, they have gone into Receivership very sadly.
It will, as I understand it result in lIquidation and disposal of all asSets in due course.

IF YOU HAVE A QUERY ON WARRANTY ETC PHONE THE FACTORY ON (07) 3382-0033, SOMEONE FROM THE RECEIVERS WILL EITHER ANSWER THE PHONE, OR ASK YOU TO LEAVE YOUR DETALS & THEY WILL TELEPHONE YOU BACK.

Had occasion to phone them today, PFK Accounting are the Receivers, told me today any future developements will be placed on their existing website when they have sorted through the records. I Know the website does not say anything about the current situation.
I have spoken to one of the parteners privatelywhom I know well & they are devestated, will lose everything of value they own.

I think it is a very sad situation as we are on our 2nd Boroma and have been very happy with the Product.
I am sure it will not be a case of the Directors having squirreled the proceeds away as we have seen so often.
Regretably think there could well be many more casualties before things improve.
Cheers, a very sad owner.

My one beef is that my van was due to be repaired mid November AND no one from Boroma had the common courtesy to call me and let me know that my repairs would not be happening or to offer an alternative.

I found out about this from an alternate source which is why I posted the question here.

Fortunately since than I have found a former employee who is willing to repair my van but what about all those people who had put deposits on new vans....what will happen with them??

And people with warranty issues...where to for them??

This does not just affect the owners of the company...it affects the 700 plus van owners as well as the staff and suppliers...the effects are far reaching.

It appears from what I have been able to glean from many that this is not something that just happened....Boroma appears to have been in trouble for quite some time now and that is a great pity.
