Gday all, has anybody done this conversion? Have been told there are a few out there, just looking for them. I have been offered a low km B6 Turbo (6 cyl) for a price I am having trouble to refuse. Needs a few cosmetic repairs (came from burnt out vehicle) , rocker covers, injectors etc.
Any info would be of great help.
Cheers

I think you mean the 6BT cummins.
Ive never done it but a few americans have and there are mixed opinions.
While no one complains about the power,it is a noisy engine and the 80 series engine bay just isnt big enough or designed to soak up the noise.
Also it is a very tall engine and on some landcriusers like a 60 series,it needs a 4 inch lift so the sump will clear the diff.
I imagine it will need a similar lift on the 80 series.
I think they weigh 1100lbs which is about 500kg or about 150kg heavier than a toyota diesel.

My mate put a 6BT 24 valve cummins into his f150 and loves it now, BUT, it was a big job making a 5.9 liter 6 go where a V8 come out.
It didn't need transport dept approval because the the engine size difference stayed within 10% 5.9(351) came out.
It took him about 2 months to change over, working only weekends, and preaty much doing everthing himself from scratch.
I ask if he'd do it again and he didn't answer, but the long blank look I got back didn't need words.
Have a look at this just for fun.
]NEW 6.7 liter cummins
He reckoned getting one into a cruiser could be done, I dunno how hard.
