We have a battery charger Zig X7 on a Coromal Princeton van. It threw out our circuit breaker and when our electrician inspected it (he's inexperienced with vans) he found that it was arcing and suggested we have it fixed or replaced.
Has anyone had experience with battery chargers like this, are they repairable, or should you just throw them and get a new one. If so, are their any
well known brands that are know for their reliability. The one we had is four years old.
All advice greatly appreciated.

I think coromal are the only Australian distributor so if you want it repaired, you would need to send it back to them, how old is it? Do you use the power supply or just the charger?
I prefer to ditch the power supply completely and just run off battery, with a 25 amp ctek.

I agree with Dunaruna here, my Zig failed early in the piece, I replaced it with a 20 amp Powerbox charger.
Normal van power comes from the batteries, (everything is 12v)they then either charge by solar or by the Powerbox charger through the Solar Regulator.
My van is 4 years old and had a water hose connected for about the 3rd time in its life last weekend (that means I was in a caravan park). I had the 240v connected and later thought the only thing that uses 240v is the microwave clock!
Regards,
Jim
