Yes. at full noise it is an 8amp charger. Underrated for a 200ah battery, but doable.

Ron,if you do a search on this sites search area onthe charging of batteries straight from the gennie i think you are putting your battery at risk. However if you use a battery charger between gen set & battery all should be ok.
Some more learned than i may be able to put you in the direction though.
Cheers Bob.

Hi Ron,
First answer, I wouldn't use the DC output of any generator to charge batteries for a couple of reasons,

The output is unregulated. Meaning as the battery approaches full charge the voltage rises to the point it could cook your batteries.

Second reason, it's at best about 8 Amps. It's safer and more economical to use a good 240V 3-Stage battery charger of say 25 Amps between the gennie and the battery. You'll get a much faster rate of charge and the 3-Stage charger will protect your battery as well as charge it more thoroughly.

Second question, as others have said, Google is your friend. You'll get change from the $550 for a couple of Deep Cycle batteries. You should be able to score a couple of 100 Ahr AGM's for that.

Hi Ron
Yes you can charge a battery direct from a eu20i and have I done so, mainly to give a cheap electric fence battery a boost. The direct charger is unregulated so unless you are keeping a close check on the battery state of charge, I would not advise using it to charge expensive batteries. Far better to buy a 240v 3 stage charger and use that with the gen.
I use the eu20i quite often to charge batteries, sometimes have run 2 chargers 12 & 24v and also the direct charge at the same time, works on eco mode without a problem.
I have not had a lot of experience with generators but am continual surprised what a small package like the eu20i can do. Run a shearing machine, bench drill etc..., just a pity I can't run my old 3 phase welder off it. Might have to get a smaller inverter welder?
