Had a good band of storms pass through here last night, Thunder sounded like a war zone, trouble is we were left in the dark for some time about 9:45 , was around 1:15 am when it came back on,

Mother nature certainly puts on some great displays up there Doug.
I have memories from the early 1960's whilst at boarding school out at Nightcliffe up there, watching spectacular sound and light shows coming in off the Arafura Sea.
They were fascinating to watch, whereas the cyclones were not.

Fred.

Fred,

What boarding school was that. I also went to school in the mid 60's at Rapid Creek.

Nice and wet through the night after the storm. Di and I went out past Corroboree this morning at sunup looking for a colony of Gouldian Finches (without success) but we were amazed as to how cool it is this morning. We are back to SA tomorrow after 5 months up here in Darwin.
