I hope it will be last question regarding telecomunication.
I need to buy or rent wireless internet to my notebook. You know the stick for USB as Pen Drive. But there is one problem, I need it for 3 months, after that I am coming back to Poland, so it can't be the agreement for 12/24months.
waiting for any suggestions
Ewa

Unfortunately, your only option is internet cafes. Nobody offers what you are hoping for.

Many caravan parks now have wireless internet networks that you can buy time on, as
well as many outback resorts who even have sat network access eg
Arkaroola in SA.
Many Macdonalds now have free internet access and most public libraries even in small towns have wireless or cafe access.

Ewa,
We use a prepaid Telstra "Browse pack" and our 3G prepaid phone. The phone operates as the modem and is plugged into a USB port on the laptop. Being prepaid, there is no long term contract. From memory the phone cost about $150. The Browse packs last 1 month then expire - the best value one costs $10 for 100 MB. The biggest trap with these packs is that when you run out of megabytes they start charging your prepaid voice service at the rate of $2 (?) per megabyte - that's seriously expensive. Details of the browse packs at
http://www.telstra.com.au/telstraprepaidplus/latestoffers/plus_packs/browse.htm
We found this service very satisfactory while on the road for 3 months recently. A bit slower than we were used to, and you have to watch your megabyte consumption, but with no long term contract and the ability to opt in and out whenever we like, very suitable for travellers.
HTH

Hi, I have the same setup ,( Nokia 6120 on cable, have bluetooth dongle as
well, but cord easier to use) but
mine is on my phone account, and I get 150meg a month for $10.00,
I can shut it of if I am home and they only charge me pro rata, last month was $7.60.
Mate has the same and used it all thru QLD / NSW etc, anywhere the phone worked ( most
places ).
Magic Cheers Des.

hi eve ,
all the major phone company,s eg telstra, vodaphone , three and optus , are now offering wireless broadband on prepaid . only thing is that if your traveling you wont get a signal from most of them until you are in a major town or city . telstra have the best coverage but are the most expensive . three are the cheapest but dont have very good coverage . go into the stores and ask about coverage in the areas you plan to travel . all the phone stores can be found in most major shopping centres .
hope this helps .
