I need to replace the clutch on my Mitsi Challenger (lasted 7.5 years, but only 120k!) Can anyone recommend a place to take it to, preferably in Osborne
Park or Balcatta areas of
Perth. Also, any recommendations as to what I should replace it with. I tow a soft floor camper that weighs in at ~900kg full loaded.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim, Try Ian Adams at Brynallwood Automotives unit 3/12 King Edward Rd Osborne
Park Tel.92441920 or 94465413 he does the work on my Patrol and has experience on other 4x4's. So far I have no problems and the price is always reasonable
Good luck,

Hi Tim,
I have recently replaced the clutch in my 2001 Challenger. Actually it got replaced twice in two months! I had roughly 130k on the clock when done.
We put in a clutch called extreme and I had nothing but trouble with it from day one. My husband kept telling me that I was the problem. I had the pedal adjusted twice as it didn't feel right. Then the shudder started at low revs. I found l was having to increase the revs to reverse out the drive. Was at a mates and he says 'thats a nasty shudder you have', my husband said 'that is your driving'!!!!!!!
Any way's, away we go towing the soft floor camper trailer. He did most of the driving for 1200k. And guess what.....
Oh maybe there is something wrong with this clutch!!!!!!!!!
My reply? Do ya think!
So out came that one and in went another one, totally different car to drive. Hubby is out so can't ask him what brand, but the paper work has a stock code of RPM1097N. If you want I can find out the brand name when he gets home.
The first clutch was sent back to be checked and the result was that it hadn't seated properly. We had it fitted at a NRMA licensed mechanic who has worked on all our vehicles, so have every confidence it was done properly.
Hopes this helps somewhat.
Michelle

Just make sure it's a heavy duty clutch
