We are heading off at the end of January for 5 months, our first big trip away. I am entertaining the idea of having a blog so family and friends can see were we have been and doing.
Given that we will not always have wireless coverage does anyone know how I can upload photo's and update the blog without using my monthly downloads in one hit?
I have heard that doing it in a PDF format is the quickest, has anyone else done this sort of thing, any advice most welcome.
Thanks in advance

If you are referring to using an ExplorOz blog then you can do it all online using our photo upload
tools and then enter text directly. Obviously to minimise your time online, you could instead simply write a word doc complete with pics etc and when you get online just upload that file to your blog entry. ExplorOz
blogs support all file formats, even your video footage!

Another way of uploading to the exploroz blog site and saving upload time and bytes is to simply cut and paste the journal entry from a word document and to reduce your photo size prior to uploading. My average photo is about 2 meg in size which is a fair bit and takes about 25 - 30 seconds to load. If you reduce the size down to 64K, it loads in about 1.5 seconds. You'll have to forgive my lack of technical expertise but there are ways of doing that using a program. Being a bit lazy, I select the photo and then right click and select "send to an email recipiant". It then gives you the option to reduce the size of the photo which I do. Then when it appears in the email, I just copy and save it to another folder and delete the email without sending.
Someone on the site will know how to resize a lot easier than my method. It certainly saves up load time and limits.
Cheers
Mick
