Hi guys...need some quick advice. DSE currently advertising 300Wmodified sine wave inverter for $79. Just spoke to my local and ha has a 300W pure sine wave ...last one in stock...that he would selll to me for same amount. So which one do I buy???Got to do,this today though. PSW had 2 AC outlets, MSW has 1 AC outlet. Want to run laptop plus bits and pieces Thanks in anticipation from all you power gurus out there!!

No contest - get the PSW! It has two AC outlets as
well but I wouldn't use the second one with a 300W inverter as a general rule.

You can happily use both as long as you stay under 300 watts eg laptop on one and camera battery charger off the other.
You can in fact plug in a power board and run multiple small items. If you overload it, it will trip the breaker; no harm done.
Cheers,
Jim.

Of course Jim.
I was just making the (obvious I know) point that 300W
inverters don't have a lot of capacity if using two appliances that might be power hungry. I use a 100W for single small items and a 600W for multiple use.

Modified sine wave inverter probably will cause problems with some motors - wrecked two vacuum cleaners before I realised that brushed motors do not like modified sine wave - similarly to fridges etc.

If you haven't yet been Taken by Aliens , the sine wave is better for same price.
But there are some good deals out at the moment and I just got a 600w squarewave for $74 from performanceshop.com.au
I think I found out about this via a link from exploroz via aussieinverters however I couldn't find an advertizer listing in the short time I looked on exploroz.
What made it good was that on the site they had a 120w baby unit for laptops etc at only $16.95 - with post from S.A. to Vic the total for both was about $106.

If you are talking about the 8zed brand, they are the biggest POS on the planet. Be very very careful, the supposedly inbuilt 'circuit breaker' does not exist.

Hi Dunaruna
Yep it is the cheap 8zed brand.
On the little 120w one ,
well I didn't expect much for $16.95
and it is pretty lightweight with a noisy little inbuilt fan but we had an issue at work the other day where a laptop needed to be used from a car and the little thing actually did the job.
Surprized me.
We then ran a cheap pedestal fan off it and that worked to , so I think if care is taken with its handling then its definately worth the $16.95.

ABR a retailer here has a 600 watt inverter for $150, 3 points and a surge to 1000 watts, it would handle the beer fridge quite nicely!!!!
I would say!!! Chaps
