Just looking in a Land of Tin Tanks site and they're praising the Aussie Locker diff lock -http://www.offroadlockers.com/ . I've never heard of this brand before... has anyone else. Wondering if what we call the "Detriot" are they calling the "Aussie".

Word is is just a copy on the "lockright " ... albiet better made.

Cheap and easy to fit according to most.

Most amazingly a lot who fit them and other brands complain about the steering being too heavy ... funny that ...

If your looking for a good front locker ... "Oxlocker" do a very reliable cable operated unit ... no air or electrics to worry about.

As one who has one fitted and has fitted three in others... we dont complain that the steering is too heavy, we simply mention that for the first few minute you notice a slightly heavier steering.

Very acceptable and not noticeable a few minutes later.

No air, no electrics, no cables and no instructions needed as to how to operate it. Very important in the event the missus has to drive out of an emergency etc if Im ever incapacitated. Oh and only $500!!

Win win all round I say hahahahah

Matt.

Hey Matt - probably a good job you made a comment.

Was referring to those unitiated ones who try to do slalom course equivalents with difflocks activated ... forgetting that the wheels have to be able to rotate at different speeds in those circumstances.

Going by other forums ... the yanks like them coz they are only about $250 approx U.S. - would have been good buying a couple of months ago , even with freight to Aust.

Yep must agree...we are ripped off totally with the pricing of 4WD equipment. ARB lockers are a joke, what is $2k here is only about $600 in the states, even with a 50c to the dollar exchange (worst case) we are still ripped since its made here and exported!!!

Bought a heaps of bike parts from the states when the exchange was 95c ish and cleaned up compared to dealer prices including freight. (4 days Fed-Ex to my door)

Ah yes the old lock the manual locker and try to turn...doesnt happen.

Some auto lockers can be a little torque sensitive in some situations but most are now very sensitive and become alot more well mannered in all situations. The old ones were harsh!

Come on Aussie Dollar Come on!! Cross fingers, I need some more o/s buys, so come on aussie dollar come on haha!!

Matt.
