Ctek Plugs/socket

Can anyone suggest a better suitable plug/socket to replace the original unit please?

The plug/socket iisn't very robust and does tend to get warm.

A twin automotive fusible link plug available from auto elec shop would do the job.Cut the locking tab off the female plug to enable eazy disconnection

I agree, replace the barrel type connector with Anderson-style plugs.


I have seen many of these Ctek connectors melt and fail.

Fully agree , have over the last few yrs changed nearly all of my 12v connections over to the 30amp Andersons , much much better than cigi plugs /hella ect ect , ,,,, 12v lights , 12v compressor , waeco 80lt and the engle fridge + the c/tec , ALL are connected via the 30 amp andersons ,,

I use the Red+Black Anderson Powerpole 30 amp for all my low-power 12 volt DC connections.

They are silver plated so they start off with extremely low resistance and remain low resistance.

For higher current, 4WDrivers have standardised on the grey 50 Amp Anderson SB Series.

Not sure what type it is but the 4wdextreme bloke on ebay sells an accessory ctek plug.

Didnt read a great deal about it as not for my model

may be worth a look
