Ive forgotten the cooking tip

So what happens when your out camping and the flour you go to use has no label?? Is it Plain or is it Self Raising???

How do you tell which one is which?? I know that one has more of a tingly felling on your tongue but cannt remember which one?? and have never really trusted this way cos I just cannt tell.

Is this why I only pack plain because its easy to turn to SR.......???

How do you tell the difference when there is no packet around....??

just carry plain and you will always know

For 1 cup self-rising flour use:
1 cup plain flour
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
a pinch of salt.

G'day Kiwi and Grenade

Self raising flour has an amount of baking/bicarb soda in it, hence the tingle on tongue......

But I could be wrong .......... If only we had web cam, we could look at all the flour coated tongues trying this out..... :)))
