Hey Sharon,
At the moment we are not happy campers as you may remember we had the fridge die on us, we have now had the Air Cond die on us in
Longreach of
all places!!!!! 45 in the shade, we have sat in
Blackall for 4 days awaiting a new unit, only to find out yesterday its still approx 4 days away - it was too hot to sit and wait, I phoned Dometic and told them we were moving south and would phone them when we arrived in a cooler place where we could wait for a unit to arrive. We have only had the van since 4/11/08!!!!
However we loved
Longreach, went to the Stockmans hall of fame it was
well worth the trip, seen heaps of Brolga's and attempted to fish in the Barcoo river - didn't catch a thing!!! but good fun anyways. We are now at
Mitchell and the Van
park here is just glorious - so neat, clean and tidy (its the one on the right just after the bridge you can't miss it and they have a special 3 nights for $40) we are leaving today though as we need to get some work - we are headed for
Stanthorpe. The girls are getting excited about Christmas and our 6 year old asks everyday "how many days till santa??" next it will be the
easter bunny!!!!
Hope all is
well with you - we may catch up on the road!!! as we are now headed further south once we have some $$$ in the bank.
Take Care & Thanks for asking
Cheers

We are now approaching 2 yrs on the road. It has been amazing, some of the stuff we seen is beyond belief. The girls (aged 5 and 7) are learning so much, not just school but life skills as
well. Spent a bit of money on the car lately which hurts as this was holiday(read Fishing charter) money. But as someone pointed out, with how far we have gone and the roads we have driven on we can't complain. I feel sorry for matt and caz as that is a real bugger. We have 10 weeks in Tassie then up to
Cape York before probably calling it quits and finding somewhere to settle. We are all still really enjoying it and can't understand why so many people go over seas but don't see OZ. Last couple of weeks is the 1st time we have really talked about stopping, kind of sad. Our 5 yr old said she was finding it hard travelling. we asked if she wanted to stop and she said "no way, there is still to much to see". Turns out it was just the long hot days in the car coming down from
Darwin that she didn't like. Gibber plains are that interesting to a 5 yr old. Over all the trip is
well worth it and our family time has been so good.
