The Yeti
I sold my fridge slide on this site and the buyer and myself agreed on a price on the phone. When he came to pick it up I was away and he dealt with my daughter, He was $5 short of the agreed price. I must admit when I found out I felt a bit ripped off, not the amount just the principal. But yesterday $5 turned up in the mail. I am sorry I doubted you and I don't have your number anymore to say thanks, you have restored my faith in people, hope you have many years of use of the slide and Merry Xmas and happy 4wding

unfortunately yes, and it only encourages pointless card sending :)

Why don't you send him a $5 reward for being so honest?

Another Xmas story.
You can become pretty cynical with all the phone calls from charity, the endless bills, the GFC, the price of diesel and the news of the world. I was pretty sure that I'd become an old grouch.
But;
sitting having a rare coffee inside a local shopping centre I was directly behind a couple of kids collecting for the Surf Lifesaving Movement. They just stood there, tins in hand. No hassling anyone.
I watched
young and old put a few bob into the tins,
young mums with kids, mums and dads giving their kids money to give to a very worthy cause. Maybe one in 10 people gave something.
Amazing. "Don't these people get the same phone calls that I do?" I wonder.
Donor exhaustion isn't universal I realize.
As I slip some coins into the tin, the lass smiles at me and says thank you.
Maybe it's Xmas or whatever, but I am suddenly smiling.

I had a good experience also, I sold an item in the trader section, told buyer I would pay postage, sent parcel off, about a week later payment for the goods arrived with the postage cost added to the agreed price. Not talking big dollars but a very nice but unnecessary gesture on the buyers behalf. Still some great minded people out there.
