Hey Willie,

Whad'y'get in terms of rain?

A browse through the BoM site tells a fantastic story for the whole state - unless you grow stone fruit or happen to still be reaping.

Cheers

Rick, we got about 3" in the old terms and still counting more slowly now - 75mm and pretty general across SW Victoria. Some would surpass that. Should be pretty green through Christmas now.

Just below average at end August, then half average for September, then even lower for October, then warm and dry November and brrrr for December

Goodday John
we have had about 100 mm at Bathurst in the last 7 days or so. Local water supply dam(Ben Chifley) is overflowing. Great to see, country up here looks brilliant after a reasonable spring. A lot of chaps are cutting meadow hay and on my brothers farm all his dams are full.
cheers Pete

Madfisher

Just wondering what part of Bathurst you are in.
I am out at Eglinton. I check this site just about every day and have got some great info off it.
Just wondering if any other ExplorOzer's at Bathurst are on this site.
By the way we got 72mm at Eglinton from the downpour on Friday.

Gday Rick,
Hope you had fun thursday! I may have inadvertently got your email on my hdj79 address :-)))

We live on the Torrens River and love to see the river rise over the footbridge near our place and watch the ducks get washed downstream - great to see the rain!

Cheers
Phil

Don't often have to light the fire this time of year, but tonite shes going strong. Had 88 mm so far, (Macarthur, SW Vic.) more on the way they say. My son and I had to knock back a quart of Scotch this arvo just to keep warm. Now I need sleep !

We got 45mm in our backyard but the Elders site says that Cape Nelson got 48mm and 'Portland' got 66mm. I believe that the Portland reading is taken at the airport so that is about 10 ks from town. It was a good soaking rain so no need to water the veggie garden for a while.

Largs Bay (SA)- normally a "dessert", received 25mm. It rained all day Friday, very gently, soaking. Good stuff. Tanks full. Spent Fri arvo at local SLSC looking out over Gulf St Vincent drinking pints of WE Draught, watching the rain. Life is good!!
Went to the gym at Woodville Park this morning at 7am, had to wait inside to get to the car at 8:30am, couldn't get to car 'cause the rain was so hard.
Magic!!!

A bloke should go for a drive for a few days -

It's so long since I have seen a germination in the Flinders, I've forgotten what it's all about. This rain event combined with the rain from a week or so back; well, it could be a verdant paradise.

And I imagine through to the top of the Gammons will have water in all the creeks...ahhhhh.......... got to make it happen, not just talk about it.

Hi Rick
Just took out another 1" this morning, brings the total at my house here in Clare SA, for 4" in three days. We never had that much rain during winter.

Cheers
