Ironman Bullbars for 100 series...anyone got one?

Anyone know anything about these bars. Ironman have a package at the moment with a winch, bar and spotties for $2100. The bar looks pretty good in the pics (like an ARB bar) but I've never seen one on a vehicle.

Anyone with any knowledge, pics or experience with these bars?

Many thanks

Andrew

Andrew,

Members Lyn and Al of Darkside Conversion fame have one on their 100 Series, looks good. I think they have the Ironman winch as well.

Cheers Kev

62kgs? Thats pretty light compared to an ARB which is about 10kg more.
Although a mate has an Ironman on his Prado an is stainless steel- i assumed it was very heavy and he said it was extremely heavy.
Whats yours made of Mark?

TIPPA

the bottom is powder coated steel, the round bars are stainless steel & the over riders are tough rubber. the bar cost $1285 so the deal with the d/lights & winch for that price that Andrew mentioned is gr8t value i think.

Ah ok. Are the stainless bars welded to the mild steel bar or bolted? Just wondering how strong it would be in a frontal compared to a seam welded ARB?

For sure, and with a shiney look of aluminium but alot stronger. Plus the stainless wont oxidise like ally either, so best of both worlds, especially for the price.
I'd prefer to get a $450 winch ARB bar off ebay, re-powdercoat and its a cheap, strong bar.
Although i do see why Ironman bars, and all their gear really, is selling so well.

Andrew,
I saw the same deal but I was told by Ironman direct that the deal had passed and then the same when I spoke to a retailer. Apparently they were set up for the Melb 4WD show or till stocks last.
I liked the look of the bar and the winch and got this bar and a 12000 lb winch for $2690 fitted in Canberra.
Check with Ironman for you local dealer and see if they can honour the original deal

I spoke to a dealer in WA today about the gear and they're still flogging it. There must a few kits left I guess.

I'll be having a close look.

I currently have an alloy bar. Sold it and now looking for something better but the overall weight of the bar and winch does concern me..

I'll be checking out ARB V's Ironman in the weight stakes tomorrow.

Cheers
Andrew

One thing that you may have to include in your winch/bar/spotties package is upgraded front suspension. If the bar is 67kgs, a 9,55lb Ironman winch weighs 38kgs and i guess 5kgs for the spotties, so it could add 110kgs which is hanging right out the front of your cruiser.
I have full OME suspension and was advised that with just a bar i'd be fine, but add a winch and i'd have to upgrade the fronts to Constant +200kg springs (as i have in the back).
Something t consider anyway.
Cheers!

we had the ironman winch bullbar on the 80 series in that speckled charcoaly colour.....looked great. We got ours for $1100 from the local tyre shop (yep - tyre shop were the only dealers of them....not even the 4wd shop!) because it had 2 dints in it underneath - not noticeable unless you got on your hands and knees and looked real hard for them.

Didnt have the winch on so cannt comment on how it went with that....
