I have recently been offered a 100 ah SLA battery made by Fullriver at a cost of $180 do you think this in a good price? If so I'll think about getting one and storing it until needed in about 6 months time. (its a one off deal)

If it is brand new and in good condition then go for it.
Just get a small battery fighter from super cheap and attach. Batt will last for years this way.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

A small battery charger that looks like a plugpack. It keeps the battery fully charged, so the battery does not sulphate while sitting for long periods. I have one, it works well.

What type of Sealed Lead Acid battery is it ?
Is it a Cranking battery ??

They wholesale more than that, so what's the reason your getting it so cheap ?

Yep but some are cranking batts and some are deep cycle.

Doesnt make a lot of difference but DCs will last a bit longer in a cycling environment.

Hi Trouper

We purchased four 110 ah SLA Full Rivers last month at $363 each. Purchased from Challenge Batteries is Osborne Park (Perth). We bought then because due to the exchange rate, the price was going up on the next consignment.

At that price it is an excellent price for an AGM, if it is new. 100 AH AGMs typically go for $330 up these days. AGMs have a very low self discharge rate, so putting it on the shelf for a few months will not be too much of a problem.

If I was after a battery at the moment, I'd grab it. But I already have 6 AGMs that I carry. Four of them are Fullrivers.

Yeah, well thanks all for your input. It is a deep cycle so I think I'll go for it Even if it is a superseded model its still new one under garrantee.

Cheers All

Remember the warranty is only as good as the date stamped on the battery !!

So make sure it is stamped on when you pick it up as that days date.
