A trap for young players. I've just loaded the 2008 version of the NATMAP Raster product and opened the 250K mosaic file (ECW) in OziExplorer. Assuming the .MAP files to be the same I used the 2005 version .MAP files. WRONG!!! The two versions are calibrated differently.

I then downloaded the 2008 .MAP files from OziExplorer site and all was fixed.

Hello
Other option is to import the calibration information from the ecw file using OziExplorer. This will ensure you get the right calibration file every time. This is assuming ecw file has header info and is calibrated correctly ..not all ecw files are, but Natnmaps should always be right.

To import the calibration information and create your own *.map file use File - Import Map - ECW Maps...job done.

Merry Christmas

Greg,
Thanks for that. I just assumed... and that was my mistake. I had no problems downloading the .map files from the web site once I saw the problem but as you say, there are other ways to do it.

Hi All,

I use Trackranger and don't have that problem. Everything works as intended.

Hi,

They may well do. But you have to go through the dramas of file conversions. You turn it on, load it and it works.

I guess it each to his own.

Cheers
