HI everyone
Just wondering I have a 2002 hilux dualcab 4wd and i just had some 31inch desert duelers fitted. problem is they rub against the guard i have already lost one mudflap I was told they should fit without rubbing.

has anyone else had this problem not that its a big problem rubs going up driveways or bumps especially when wheels are turned.

Is this typical

cheers

mate i had the same trouble with my 04 after fitting mtz'. it only rubbed on the front drivers side when i turned full lock to the right. i hated doing it but i got a hacksaw and cut straight down on that bit of lip that seems to hang out a bit, rub gone. i did it the day after i fitted the tyres so i didn't lose anything. one day when i get around to it i'll grab a new one from a wreckers in case i want to sell it in an uncut state. good luck with it mate.

bleep e thats a severe rub to pull off the mudflap,Wouldnt have thought the tyre would be chunkier than the MTZ..

I got my dremel and took a bit of plastic away on the inside of the guard (plastic),Still needs a touch more on the right hand turn, been up spurs, rivers etc...So havnt bothered as yet...

Cheers

I've got a 2000 Hilux extra cab with 31 inch tyres
The extra cab is actually lower than the dual cab.

I bought the car in 2001 and put on 31/10R-15 desert duellers.
When I put them on they rubbed on wheel lock and I had to unscrew the mudflaps. I've had them off since and have done 150,000km without them on. No problems without them, but have got rubber wheel flares as they stick out slighty.
I noticed as the tyres wore a little, they didn't rub as much on full lock. Also my tyres are 10 inch wide, not 10.5 inch wide like most.

I'd suggest just taking/leaving your front mudflaps off.
