I have recently bought the new 3.0l Common Rail Diesel Patrol. I have noticed when sitting on around 100-110 km/h and change down gear from 5th to 4th, that I am getting a surge in power and wondering if this is normal. It happens when I lift the clutch after selecting 4th gear and about a second after pushing the accel, get a power surge.

I thought that it may be the turbo kicking in, but never noticed in my old 3.0l 2003 Patrol.

Any ideas?

Why would you change back from 5th to 4th at 100-110?

I would have thought there was enough information out there about the 3.0L engine not to buy one at all.. Buying them only encourages Nissan to keep on importing them!! Michael

Have they got fly by wire instead of cable now on the throttle ?? I have found this on wifes car also mate has new subi and he hates the fly by wire, reckons its too sensitve and one minute nothing the next its kicking back and taking off, giving him the s h i t s big time. He has had it back to the dealer but nothing to adjust just has to get used to it. Im only guessing with yours, might still be cable. WHG

Crikey I am so glad I got rid of mine and bought a 4.2 before I had to face all these problems.

What a pain in the ar**

With the propsed new Nissan I will change brands after 20 years of product support.

You get that.

Cheers
