G'day all
I'm not to sure if this is an appropriate post, but the Old Girl has had a Birthday.
The Old Girl is in fact the WABCO 3200 A haulpak sitting (now) proudly in the grounds of the
Newman Visitor Centre.
She looks almost as good as the very first time I laid eyes on her.
The Wabco is one of the original fleet of 21. Being an "A" model she was in the first batch on site at
Mount Whaleback and possibly built on site from a knocked down kit, or she may
well be one of the ex Hamersley Iron (
Tom Price) trucks that were driven cross country from
Mount Tom Price iron ore
mine to the
Mount Whaleback mine, I honestly can't remember !!
The Old Girls active days at Whaleback saw this truck and it's mates carrying up to and at times
well beyond their legal payload of 212,200 kgs, all up fully loaded they were in the order of 402,200kgs
