Found this 'interesting' home
solar power system on the net, is amazing how a simple video can make things so much easier to visualise !
Click on the second last 'square' under 'You-Tube' to show in full screen.

Thanks for that link Mainey - it certainly makes it seem simple.
We are going to build a new house late next year and I want to minimise the use of mains electricty - its going to get significantly more expensive over the next few years once this carbon trading system clicks in.
The video makes it so easy as you say - even easier if you are building and can put the wiring in yourself while under construction.
Cheers,
GPM

I think the term "generally in use all the time" means that over the period of 4 years and as and when in use not left on all the time otherwise we are all doing something wrong here.
I would think he is very aware of not leaving lights on in rooms.
Its a good example of budgeting.

Seems simple enough and I guess the bigger system to do the more you can do. LOL mind you i get screwed with 6 bleep y trailer wires I'm pleased this only has 2 colours I may even be able to do this.
I am interested in the system a builder has up the back of my place and he runs 3 homes and a workshop (timber) from a
windmill and a battery bank. Will go visit his place at some stage and check his system out.
When we move and build again I am looking at both options wind and solar as our power supply.
