Hi All,
I am interested in upgrading to an '06 WH Grand Cherokee 3L CRD with tad over 60k on the clock. I was wondering if there are any 3L CRD owners who have racked up considerably more kms without serious issues / failures or if the CRD has given problems. Should I be cautious or is this a no brainer?

Cheers.......... Doodle

Doodle,

I've only done 40,000 with mine not a hint of any issues very reliable vehicle and would have no hesitation in buying another one.

The best place to get an answer to your question would be to ask it in the ausjeepoffroad forum I'm sure you will find a few there who have put considerable k's on their vehicle.

Thanks Roscoe - I'll probably give that a go if there aren't many WH CRD owners on this forum.

Only prob with em is lack of legroom caused by the wide tranny tunnel.

I read that in a review on the 2006 model Stu-k.
The tester was 6'4" tall. The shorter guys didn't complain. It shouldn't be a problem for me. I'm built a bit closer to the ground.

I'm 6' 1" and I don't find that to be a problem, the brake and accelerator pedal are set back a little to compensate for longer legged people.

It would have been good if the steering wheel was adjustable in and out which is something that the manufacturer should think about addressing.

However, this can easily be compensated through the electric seat adjustment.

Must be just me but i found the footwell to narrow and my left foot on more than one occasion got stuck under the brake pedal while heavy braking.
I don't miss that part of it with my new hilux but i do miss the constant 4wd and that motor!

Stu-k,

Yes I have found that can be a problem if I'm wearing boots with a wide sole there isn't much room between the footrest and the outside of the brake pedal is there.

I don't usually wear boots though so it hasn't become an issue for me. But in terms of my longish legs I haven't found it to be cramped. You're right about that motor it's certainly got some grunt.

Gooday,
Have 2006 Commander CRD, same motor, just turned over 52,000 Km great rig fabulous for towing, great economy for Grand Cherokee, bit lighter than the Commander.
Cheers Boroma604.
