Just finished watching tonights episode.
The new Terios thrashing around the English country side, mud, ditches etc. I now have a new found respect for these little soft-roaders.
Apart from the fact that the exhaust note sounded like a Ford Cobra rather than a turbochared sewing machine, the little 4by appeared very agile and capable.
Very impressed.
Cheers....Lionel.

But what about the Nissan GTR - Wow , wish they'd put some of that research into the Patrol.

It didnt really do anything any small soft roader couldnt do with some air out of the tyres and an experienced driver
It would have gone even better with some aggressive mud tyres

Hi Lionel,
You're right did look pretty impressive as mentioned not sure about the engine note some dubbing I suspect. Should have tried to cross the "stream", that would have been interesting. There was a couple of situations like the nose into the dirt shot that I suspect some recovery went on that we didn't see, the camera cut away pretty quickly, saying that the overall performance was pretty good, as mentioned also muddies would have been better, maybe a bigger engine a 2 inch lift and the list goes on and on and on................

No sound dubbing. When this episode was on in UK there was a lot of
forum discussion re. sound. The producer replied on the Top Gear website. There camera car was a V8 Range Rover Vogue. Because the Terios was so quiet, you could only hear the Rangies exhaust.

Must admit I had a good laugh. As above I think a certain amount of off camera recovery took place but still pretty good performance.
Remind me not to buy a Rolls Royce or Big mother Beema cos I'm sure
parking bays here in
Perth are getting smaller as
well.

England and Europe have almost "cult" like Daihatsu 4x4 clubs.
Amazing the loyalty a brand can achieve ... when its abilities are not overshadowed by media hype and the fact fleet buyers ( where most private individuals get there presumption of - whats best - from ... ) only have a minimum number of options to choose from ... such as in Australia.
