Hello
Some interesting inclusions in latest dev version such as 3D perspective....the update is just an exe file. Cut and paste into your existing ozice folder on gps and create new shortcut or change file name after deleting old exe.

OziCE dev version

Cheers
Greg

Just installed it on my $200 nav GPS and it works a treat.

Greg, it runs well in my VMS, though I don't like the "course up" on maps much but the 3D doesn't look bad. It was different on a GPS where the roads turned around so you could read them. I had used the 2.22d version and hadn't found it unstable.

I would like a red or better night screen with it. Perhaps I should write to them about it.

The new 2.23d really gets connected quickly with a fast indexing and load. A lot faster.

Greg, thanks for the 'heads up'.

Have a good Christmas and hopefully a great 2009

Hi John
I have had no issues with the latest few dev version either - seems very good. I use course up in the car on the 4.3 inch sceen, though as you say writing is upside down when you heading south. I don't use course up on the smaller screen gps I use in the bush as it gets confusing especially when using air photos/on foot.

All the best for the coming year

John - your dreams have been answered as the latest dev version (2.24D) released yesterday has option for red night screen. Requires use of Screen designer to make a "button" to turn off and on (plus you must also use the original button for dimming backlight light as well (ie only operates when screen less than 100% bright)

Not sure how it looks when driving - havent been out.

Cheers

Thanks Greg, I had been away but I see that 2.24d has been replaced by 2.25d. I have been playing with the Screen Designer but still have a little more playing to do I think. Trying to put buttons to the top right. I had exchanged emails with Des.

Cheers

Hello
I just modified existing page file and put red screen button in top right corner using screen designer - works. What issue were you having?

Have only tried red screen once last night - couldnt really see underlying map very well. Will try agian tonight.. maybe.

Cheers

I was trying to adjust the wrong screen resolution. It is actually 480 x 234, not 480 x 272 that I had thought

Two buttons one to reduce the intensity, the other to change to red. Makes it easy and change the greying of two of the other buttons too to make them easier to see.

Ozi is heaps better than Memory Map once you have played with the two. MM is like Ozi Lite, light.

Greg, I have looked at some of my maps using the 'night' screen and find that some of the maps lend themselves to the colour more than others do. Red roadways aren't all bad but it depends on the background colour a bit. The Roof Top maps are pretty good. The button I have to drop backlighting intensity by 10% each touch is good.

...yes a few of the new features (eg use of elevation data) can not be used by way of the default screens, so you you need to create your own or modify existing ones. Havent bothered myself yet.

Cheers
