Ive just calibrated and saved a scanned map on Eziexplorer. I now want to convert it to a ozfx3 file to use on my gps, but I cant for the life of me work out how to do it. I have run the img2ozf program which I thought was the way to do it but when I look into the source map folder for the file I want to convert the program cant find it. What am I doing wrong.

Have'nt used Img2ozf for a while but is the .map file (from your scan/calibration exercise) in the Source folder ?

when i saved the map it saved as a Oziexplorer raster map. This was the only format option the save procodure gave me. Ive got a couple of other maps saved as Oziexplorer raster map files but img2ozf dosnt see them in the source folder. Im sure Im doing something wrong but I cant work out what it is.

Steve,

Ok.

When you scanned your maps, I assume you saved them in JPG format.

Did you then use Oziexplorer on the PC via File/Load &Calibrate Map Image ?

This would have loaded your JPG format map and asked for at least two calibration points to be entered.

Yes I did that. I calibrated the jpg map with 5 calibration points. I then saved the map using the file - save to file - save map file path. This gives me the option of which folder to save the map in and what to call it. The only format it can be saved in is a .map file. I can use windows explorer to check if the file is in the correct folder (which it is). But when I look for the file using Img2ozf it cant see it, or any other file for that matter. All it can see are folders. Ive converted a couple of maps for my gps a few months ago and it seemed easy enough from what I remember but its got me buggered now.

Steve,

In the Load &Calibrate Map Image screen there is a Save button, bottom right corner of the panel where you enter the co-ordinates. That is the Save option I use. Then move the files to where I want using Windows Explorer or such later. It sounds to me like you used the Save option from File on the main toolbar.

I was using the save option on the main toolbar. I have just tried the save button on the Load &Calibrate Map Image screen and that seems to have done the trick. Ill fiddle around a bit more to make sure Ive got a handle on it this time. thanks mate

Hello - not sure if your problem is now solved but as mentioned the ozf2img program requires a *.map file. If that file is not in thh folder you are looking in (even if the actaul map image is) then you wont see it. Sounds like you have the calibration file (*.map) file in a different folder to the actual map image...but when using ozf2img program you are looking in the folder containing the image only.

Cheers
