Hi There firstly I'll introduce myself. I now live in Perth WA. However I grew up in Queenstown Tasmania. I now, after all these years have got the urge to walk around the South West of Tasmania, mainly to Port Davey and surrounding tracks. I am looking for an experienced bush walker to do this trek sometime in January February 2010. Please drop me a line if there are any keen walkers around the traps.

Cheers
Rusty.

Hi Rustyhull,
Just got back from doing the Sth West and South Coast Track. Flew in to Melaluca and then based our selves out of Ketcham Bay and did a day treck to th Sth West before heading off on the Sth Coast Track. You will have an awesome time. I would recommend you buy a book called South West Tasmania by John Chapman.

We did 140km's in 8 days - I would suggest you take 12 days as we had to rush it. If you call Tasair they may be able to hook you up with other walkers doing it at the same time.

Hi Rustyhull

Suggest you contact one of the bushwalking clubs in Tassie.
With that amount of lead time, you will be sure to get a few takers from local walkers. If you need any contact addresses let me know and I will get them for you.

cheers
