Hi all
Apologies if this has been done to death but I am unable to find any posts on topic.
I'm getting new tyres for my LC80 and wondered whether there was any real benefit in going wider than I presently have. At the moment I have 235/85R16 fitted, but wondered if there was any real benefit in changing these for 265/75R16, keeping the same diameter so speedo not messed up.
My driving will mostly be on road/light off road at least initially but with some desert tracks thrown in so sand may become a real issue.
Have read mixed advice on keeping the 235s but changing pressure more on the tracks, or changing to the 265s but suffering more road noise but wondered if anybody had any
views from their experience?
I won't even start on tyre brand once the size is decided...!
Thanks for your help and all have a great New Year.

235/85R16 are fine for any desert travel, and if you were blindfolded, I doubt that you'd notice any significant difference. Diameter helps more than width.

Gday Curt Whilst the 26575r16 & white rims look preeeety on the gu the original 750 r16 (equivalant to the 235) were better in sand and most off road stuff
but in the mud
well thats another story i reckon
cheers

By going to a 75 profile from the 85 you will get greater K's out of the tyres
