I am helping a friend in the country get his old Holden mobile.
The tranmission is slipping .
I have some info on adjusting the band ,but no photos to show where the allen key and lock nut are located (externally or under the oil pan? )
Is there some web sites that may be of help?
I will not be doing anything without lots of info and research.
The G/Box is quite new ,and oil is clean and doesn't smell burnt.
The car is an HR with a 186 and Trimatic G/box fitted.
Many thanks , DB

You have to remove the sump then the servo cover inside it. This site explains how to do it.

Hi. There are a few model trimatics. The servo cover is inside the sump at the LH rear corner of the transmission body. Undo four 1/2 in. bolts to remove the servo cover and you will see the allen bolt and locknut. as a general rule tighten the allen bolt to 25 inch pounds and then back off two and a half turns. Tighten up the locknut whilst supporting the servo piston. You will need an inch pound tension wrench obviously, and should take about 2.5 litres of Dexron 3 to refil it. Regards,Bob.
