Whatever feels right. There is no hard and fast rule on tyre pressure.
Experiment with a few pounds each way and see how it feels.
Its the weight of the towing vehicle that is really important.
The caravan should only have about 10% of its weight on the towball.

Depends what you are driving as
well.
EG A Patrol runs higher pressures standard than a Cruiser.
The 4lb rule is a good one.
That is hook up, take tyre pressures, drive for 15mins and take them again. To be correct they should be 4lb higher. More than that they are too low, less than that too high. also the same on the van.
Check on the "articles" above it has advice on things like that

Gary n Kerry, for the black you should be about right all things being equal. On dirt, stone and sand I would be dropping 10 psi, corrugations even lower. On loose sand another 10 psi lower.
Traction is boosted for all surfaces with the lower pressures, steep hills included. Your question is pretty open ended.
