Much said on this forum re these Patrols with even Roly having a say not long back on his thoughts re the vehicle.

From what I read, it appears all the probs were pre the series III. YES/NO any thoughts.???

I can't remember seeing any threads which relate to any dramas post the series III. Of course I could be wrong, just asking the question.

Thought it might help dispell some of the negativity about current model. I love mine and no probs like anything I've read. I know the major probs..5th gear, ECU's ect have all been upgraded post the III. As far as I know to date, all AOK'

Anyone have anything to add?

cheers

"Power to weight ratio"

I thought the wagon would be too heavy for the smaller engine.

Still, extra weight for the 4.2 L = extra power.

Well $$ is the biggest concern, Personally I thnk $60k is insane price for any car.

But to each their own!

Bloke in our club got a second hand GU TD42 ($32k!) and thrown a turbo at it, just completed his 3rd simpson, and has done numerous others cape etc never a problem.

I don't think anyone has put enough K's on the new ones to say absolutely there are no probs.

A lot of the old probs seemed to occur around the 80k's mark.

With diesels (particularily the 4.2 ) getting 500 or more out of them trouble free, lets see how far the 3.0l gets to.

I'm hoping because I recon they are a brilliant motor, but time , and K's, will tell
