Happy New Year - trust 2009 is a good one for everyone!

Planning on doing the Tanami in July - have been told that Rabbit Flat R/H is now open 7 days, can someone confirm this please?Thought it only open Friday through to Monday. Also believe there is a bird/wild life sanctuary somewhere on the track you can visit - has anyone details of this please.

Carnt help with Rabbit flat but im guessing the birdlife park is actually Newhaven, T/O just Nth of Tilmouth RH.It is owned by Birds Australia i think and its a reserve.They have camping and self drives around the property.But you have to be totally self sufficent as they dont sell supplies there.

Did the canning july last year and was told by Billiluna fuel server that Rabbit flats was going to open 7 days aweek and they(billiluna)would only open weekdays.Try ph Rabbitflats.

Sorry can't help, but if it's open 7 days a week then they will have to change the sign.

Yep. The sign is out of date

The Farrands youngsters (must be in their 40's now...lol) run the show, although Bruce and Jacqui still live there AFAIK. RF is open 7 days.

Ring Rabbit Flat first. We had heard it was open weekdays during the peak tourist season, but no-one was in sight except a very old and friendly dog when we pulled in. It was all locked up. So we pulled out again and continued on to Yuendumo.
