G'day all, am hard wiring Engel in 105 series and wondering would it be my usual way of doing things to overkill by putting an isolator switch up front for when fridge is not in there or on. Or are there some pros and cons others have come across.

Wouldn't worry about an isolator switch. Fuse at the battery to protect the wiring & isolate the fridge by unplugging when not required. KISS

Mine too is direct wired, with a switch to kill it when using the HF Radio, it causes heavy interference .

Hi Doug
Was that an Engel as I had a rotary compressor fridge and alll you could hear on the HF was the fridge running and I blamed the specific fridge.

Thanks for the response I thought it may be just the unit I had but Ive now been told that most induction motors effect HF.
