Came across a construction site last weekend at the southern end of Cynthia Range track above
the Junction of the Wonnangatta river and Wongungararra rivers. This is a very hard place to get to and was quite a surprise , the Cynthia range track is a spectacular climb out of the valley south of
Talbotville and on the way up we noticed that a couple of the big water run offs had been bypassed and wondered why until we checked out the little used dead end southern track and to our surprise found a 6 wheel flat bed Telstra crane truck perched at the end of the spur.
Concrete had already been poured and the first 30 ft of a small tower was partly up.
From the look of things this phone tower will improve the reception north from the
Wonnangatta caravan park right up that valley to Herne spur. I would not expect it to extend range into the main Wonnangatta valley.
Don't surpose anyone knows of a list of phone towers by location ?
