I am considering installing a rear view system for my car/caravan.
In the opinion of all you readers is a 3.5" monitor adequate for the job?

Have a 3 1/2 for the car and my 8in navigation screen can be switched to the van camera.
Whatever you do dont buy a REAR VSION MIRROR screen.
they are too shiny and the screen part is not
bright ehough to overcome the ambient light.
As posted above a proper screen attached would be ok but not a dual use thing. Ive got one its useless in daylight but Im too lazy to pull it out.
If you want the best either get hold of Derek on here or Polaris rear vision systems.

I wouldn't bother with anything smaller than 3.5"
Some of the really big measurements (7") don't make for a much bigger image if they're widescreen. The cameras send a signal that's 4:3 ratio, the widescreen monitor just shows black boxes either side of the camera image.
