You could also ask some questions on the Forum here: Cape Yorker, I know they did a multi week fishing adventure to Cape York using them.

Just remembered, they are going to auction the boats they used on the trip on the Forum at some stage.

All proceeds to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Hi Anthony,
I had a Polycraft 3 metre Tuff Tender for a couple of years. I used it as a tender to my yacht and also for fishing the Burnett River.

To be honest there is not much negative you can say about them. Absolutely amazing how well they handle a load and how stable they are.
I am a big bloke and coud easily stand right on the edge of the boat without causing any instability. They handle swell very well and plane very easily.
I had a 6hp Evinrude on mine and it would plane with 3 adults.

Be aware they weigh about 75kg I think which is quite heavy for a 3 metre boat. You will also need to get a purpose built trailer to carry it on because the boat will droop between the rollers if carried on a normal boat trailer without the proper supporting skids.

If you are looking for something low maintenance, stable and safe, then I can certainly recommend them.

They look brilliant to me, but at 80 kg for a ten foot boat, wouldn't make a great car topper if that is your intended use.

Their website says easily lifted by two people.

80 kg is a fair old lift for two strong blokes.

Jim.

Anthony H,
this all depends on where you are in Tassie.. but the boat hire joint in Kettering had one ( Feb 08 ) but it might have been 3.5 or even 3.7 mts?
it was an excellent little boat, would've been even better with a bigger motor than the 9.9 it had on, went across the channel to Bruny in it while fishing, very stable jigger that could handle the bit of chop that came up, much better than either of the 3.5mt tinnies that my son or l have,
if you're not far from there it could be worth while hiring it?

while looking at other boats for sale, realized the one we hired is a fair bit bigger than the one you're asking about, saw one in Qld though for $1300 bare, another one for $2000, crappy paint, dodgy trailer w/ motor for $2000,
