Hi all
I have a UHF aerial firmly fixed to the bull bar but no current way of fixing a new 2.5 m sand flag to the Paj.
Would it be ok to gaffer tape the flagpole to the aerial for the few times it's needed? Would this impact on radio transmission or reception?
Thanks and regards, Ray

Ray,
I would actually tape it to one of the Bullbar uprights instead.
Cheers Kev

I wouldn't recommend it in case you damage the antenna. Looking at your bullbar, I would use the passenger side far extent- the vertical bit and Instead wrap some rubber like old tube around the vertical bit of tube and use stainless hose clamps to fix the sand flag

G'day Ray
No, not a good idea to tape the pole to the aerial.
Just gaffa tape it to the bullbar for the short while that it is needed.
I have an old HF aerial which I use for a sand flagpole now. My 6 meter Wogpole has seen better days....lol
Cheers

Hey ray, jen and lily,
Should have checked out
mine when we were on
the desert, was funny though the number of comments you get when your flag is up 7 metres.
Mine was a piece of 1 1/2 gal pipe with some PVC inside it which clamps to the wog pole.
the gal is located by a peg on the bull bar and clamps to a horizontal part of the bar.
I put in the pvc to clamp to the pole as i was concerned it would break if i camped it to the foot long piece of gal.
Regards,
MC

G'day all, the best way is to tape, cable tie, or hose clamp a fishing rod to the bar uprights, that way you can get a bit more height as
well, even less drag, more flexible. If it is a 2 or 3 piece rod you can take it apart when you want to, aussiedingo

G'day again, if you already have a rod holder on your bullbar turn it vertical & tape or ocy strap a rod in it.
